I was raised in Colombia, so I have been speaking Spanish since I could first speak. Even then, I had a great enthusiasm for cultures, languages, and music from around the world. I earned my master's degree in Spanish at the University of Rhode Island, and while studying there, I had the opportunity to work with undergraduate students, tutoring them in Spanish and branching out to tutor high school students in AP and IB Spanish programs, as well. I have since been a high school Spanish teacher for more than 15 years. I now teach the subjects I used to tutor, such as AP and IB Spanish classes, as well as basic Spanish classes. I'm also qualified to tutor college students in Spanish classes, from the beginning through conversational Spanish, and reading and writing in Spanish, as well as Spanish for Native Speakers, at the college level. Though I teach high school, I have a certificate to teach Spanish in grades from kindergarten through high school. I enjoy tutoring students in Spanish, and helping them learn not only the language itself, but a lot of the culture behind the language. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
